Local Boy Scout Appears on National Program for Refurbishing Virgin Mary Statue

WATERTOWN, MASS. (August 12, 2016) – This month, the CatholicTV Network’s original series Encounter features an interview with John Williams, a Boy Scout and parishioner of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish in Dedham. Williams recently finished refurbishing a statue of the Virgin Mary that had been missing for decades.

Cardinal Seán O’Malley to Celebrate Special Daily Mass at CatholicTV

WATERTOWN, MASS. (August 1, 2016) – On Friday, August 12, Cardinal Seán O’Malley of Boston will celebrate the Daily Mass at the CatholicTV Network’s Chapel of the Holy Cross in Watertown. During the Mass, Cardinal O’Malley will bless the pontifical insignia (the ring, crozier, and miter) for Bishops-elect Robert Reed, President of CatholicTV, and Mark O’Connell. In addition, the bishops-elect will make the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity. Bishops-elect Reed and O’Connell were named Auxiliary Bishops of Boston in June.

Reed and Very Reverend Mark O’Connell, J.C.D. as Auxiliary Bishops of the Archdiocese of Boston. Bishop-elect Reed is President and CEO of iCatholic Media and Cabinet Secretary for Catholic Media. Bishop-elect O’Connell currently serves as Judicial Vicar for the Archdiocese.
