60 Years of Sunday Mass

The first official program of what is now known as The CatholicTV Network was produced on the morning of January 1, 1955. Archbishop Richard Cushing, celebrated a Pontifical Low Mass at the Granby Street (Boston) studios and Sunday Mass has aired every Sunday since. The 60th anniversary of The CatholicTV Network begins with Daily Mass on New Year’s Day, January 1. Throughout the year, CatholicTV will air special programming that will reflect our work and our mission. This month’s CatholicTV Monthly magazine has a cover story on 60 years of Sunday Mass, the longest running television “show” in Boston broadcasting history.
