It’s hard to believe that Lent is already more than halfway over—Palm Sunday is only nine days away. At this point, we’ve had the respite of both the Annunciation and Laetare Sunday. Now, we’re in the home stretch as we look ahead to Holy Week. So, how has your Lent been going?
“In whatever state the soul may be, it ought to pray.” – St. Faustina
This week in our blog series on prayer, we will look at lectio divina, an ancient form of prayer whose name translates literally to “divine reading.” In lectio divina, we pray with scripture and come to know God through what is truly his living Word.
When we hear the word discernment, we tend to think about the discernment of vocations. You might discern the religious life; you might discern marriage; you might discern a different vocation entirely. This process is important, and it is infinitely helpful to spend time in prayer and discernment before making any big life decision.
But what about the little decisions that we face every day? Should we discern those, too?
Thank you for dedicating nine days of your Lenten journey to the CatholicTV Webathon Novena. Today, Day 1 of the Novena, we ask Saint Francis of Assisi to pray for us.
