Many years ago, I used to play pickup basketball with a group of people I had met over the years. We would get together every Friday during lunch break and play at a local YMCA. The players were of all different talent levels, different ages, and from various backgrounds. I always looked forward to playing not only for the game, but also because of the relationships I had formed with the other players.
Due to travel, I was not able to write my normal blog. However, I thought you might enjoy this blast from the past!
I am a failure! There is no other way to put it. Why am I such a failure? Let me explain. I wrote a blog recently, and in the comment section, Patrick asked the following:
“A topic of interest to me is how to be a good Catholic man in the secular 'guy' world. i.e. How to be relevant and have influence by being 'one of the guys' while still being true to your faith and evangelizing effectively.”

With Mother’s Day upon us, I thought I would reflect on losing my mom, a kind and wonderful mother who I miss every day and think of often. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, and I look forward to your comments!

As some of you know, I am a walker. I will put on my headphones, turn on the music, and take off for destinations unknown. There are times I might walk for 5 to 6 hours in a day. It is during those times that I like to reflect and think. I have come to depend upon my walks to help me unwind and think introspectively.
